And the winner is……

Congratulations to Brenda Kohl, the lucky winner of the music quilt!

And truly everyone who bought a ticket is a WINNER for helping out the Desert Hot Springs Music and Band Department. A sincere heartfelt thank you to you all.

Work has already begun on the next music quilt and I will keep you posted on it’s progress.

More music fabric is on it’s way and remember music fabric is always 10% off and the store will match 10% of music purchases and donate it back to The Desert Hot Springs Music Department.

Silk Road from Benartex.  Ok  I know these fabrics are cotton but they really do feel like silk – 37 pieces with colors from Spice, Pomegranate, Raspberry, Toffee, Artichoke, Lagoon and Celery to Teal, Blue/Gray, Slate, Stone and Cocoa.   There is a free pattern from Benartex and of course one we created…we just got so excited when we started cutting these fabrics that we had to dream up something wonderful.  A simple block repeated using a wide range of colors that could be geared towards the blues, greens, or oranges.  Each piece is also a great blender for any of your other designs or one for the basic stash collection.    

And as the temperature rises it was time to go into Summer  mode at the store.  Move over dark batiks -make way for the cool colors.  We have added lots of flowers, Bird of Paradise, Hibiscus, Violas, Daisies and brought out the blues, pinks, yellow, greens.

“Stash Buster” club

Lots of scaps and lots of fat quarters collected over the years – does this sound like anyone you know?  Would they be intersted in a “Stash Buster club”?  Let me know what you think just submit a comment or leave a repy - I’ll get your message and tally the results.  Intial thoughts we would meet once a month at the store and create wonderful “stash buster” quilts.  Hope to hear from you!

“Club 1895” is here!  We are very excited to announce that we will be carrying the entire 1895 hand-painted batik collection from Hoffman Fabrics. We currently have over 100 pieces of what we believe to be the most beautiful  box of cotton crayons out there.  Great blenders, fabulous stand alone Colors – their applications are endless. 

 “Club 1895” is a monthly fat quarter club with its first release April 15th.  Stop by the store to see the first 10 colors or

call for more details. 

“Penny Lane” from Hoffman Fabrics has also arrived, browns, blues, pinks and gold – paisley, dots, flowers a very fun and intriguing line. 

Also arrived from Robert Kaufman Fabrics is “Metro Café”  browns, green, orange, marigold , teapots and coffee cups, fun fun fun.

Other news we have released (2) store fabric challenges.  The first is a “Summer” challenge – 6 fat quarters  and 2 months to create a quilt, wearable art, or

Accessory with a summer theme.  All creations will be hung in our store and voted on by customers – this first challenge is due back by June 1st so hurry in or call

The Second challenge is a “Pumpkin” challenge – 6 fat quarters and 6 months to create – this second challenge is due back by October 15th so start dreaming of
